This year's trip to the city of Kirov will be September 24 – October 3, 2007.  Here's what the weather is like now in Kirov:

Here's the latest for the team members...

Support Letter:  We encourage you to consider sending out letters to your family and friends to request their prayer and financial support.  The sooner you send these letters out the better.  All funds need to be in to the church by the end of August.  Funds donated toward your trip will be given a tax receipt from the church. Fund raisers:  We will be holding a number of fund raisers throughout the summer.  Each team member will be given an "account", and money from fund raisers and other donations you raise will go to your account.  With most of the fund raisers, half of the funds raised will be shared by all members of the team, while the other half will be distributed among those who participate by working at the fund raiser.  If you are unable to work at a fund raiser, you may designate a family member or friend to work for you. 

Here are the fund raisers we've currently got planned:

Sunday July 29 - the Spaghetti luncheon - we raised over $750!

Sunday August 5 - Bake Sale - we raised over $250!

Saturday August 11 - Rummage Sale - we raised over $900!

Sunday August 19 - Carwash  - we raised over $450!

Financial payments:  Here is the full schedule or payments.  The dates here are when you need to have the funds to church.  If you have funds in your account from donations or fund raisers, these will be applied to your payment first.

Team meetings:  We will be scheduling from time to time "team meetings" to get the group together, discuss upcoming events, and getting you ready for your trip.  The first team meeting was held on July 15.  We had another short meeting on August 12 and a prayer meeting with our friends from Calvary Open Door on Sept. 8.

The Team:  Here are the current team members planning on going to Kirov this fall:

Rich Cathers, Daniel Cathers, Dave Dunagan, Tyler Dunagan, Neil Gulassa, Katie Hennessey, Lisa Hennessey, Olivia Hurtado, Paul Johnson, Ricky Madson, Drew Morehouse (left 7/31 for 2 months), Brandon Sanchez, Greg Senecal, Linda Rouse.

If you are not yet a part of the team, there may still be time.  You might be able to join the team as late as three weeks before we leave, but the longer you wait, the higher the cost.  Here are the steps to get you going.

1.  You need to let us know you're interested.  Start by sending us an email.

2.  Get your passport.  You will need to ask for "Expedited Service" in applying for a passport, it's already way too late to apply normally.  We needed your passport by June 24.  For information on passports, click here.  For passport application, click here.

3. Download, print, and fill out the application forms for the trip itself.  You can get the forms here.

4.  Check with Olivia and find out how much your late fees will be.  You will need to pay for your deposit ($250)  plus late fees.  You will also need to catch up with the payments made so far. Check the payment schedule above.

5.  Make a photocopy of your completed forms as well as a photocopy of the main page in your passport - get the copies to Olivia at church.

6.  You will need to FedEx your original forms, along with your passport, two photocopies of your passport, an extra passport photo for your Russian Visa, and a check for your deposit plus late fees to Calvary Chapel Church Planting Mission.  The address is in the application form.

That ought to get you a place on the team.
